Shows & Tickets

We were recently made aware of an event happening downtown, on the day of your performance, that may affect traffic and parking in the downtown area.

We would like to offer the following suggestions to assure you are able to navigate the higher traffic situation without missing any of your performance.

-          Arrive Early

o   Sometimes allowing yourself a little extra time is enough to alleviate the rush and worry of missing the start of your performance

-          Know where you are going

o   The Herberger Theater Center is located on the south side of Van Buren between 2nd and 3rd Street. The majority of the weekend’s special event activity will occur south of the venue. Keep to the north to avoid road closures and traffic congestion.

-          Know your parking options

o   With special events in the area, many of the parking garages put “event parking” into effect. This means we may see spiked parking ratesor pre-paid parking situations, where we wouldn’t normally see them. We recommend researching parking in the area, prior to arrival, and preparing a back-up parking plan, just in case! You may contact the box office, or utilize apps, such as Spot Hero, to familiarize yourself with parking options in the area.

o   The Herberger Theater Box Office sells a $6 validation ticket for the Arizona Center Parking Garage, located on 5th Street and Fillmore. In the past, that garage has been far enough removed from special event activity to be largely unaffected by the increase in traffic. If you prefer to avoid bringing a vehicle to the downtown area or are unable to navigate long distances on foot, the following information could prove helpful as well.

-          Alternative travel options

o   The Valley Metro Light Rail system has 2 stops within walking distance of the Herberger Theater. It is possible there will be a high volume of people using public transportation this weekend but, with the light rail keeping a consistent schedule, it can still help to alleviate concerns about parking. You can find the light rail map and stop schedule at

-          Drop off zone

o   The Herberger Theater has drop off locations for those choosing to travel with Uber or Lyft, or for those individuals with accessible needs. For this weekend, plan for these locations to be on 2nd or 3rd Street, rather than Monroe.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our box office at 602-252-8497.

We look forward to seeing you at the theater!
