Makenzie Winans joined the Childsplay ensemble in 2024 as an assistant teaching artist and is thrilled to be joining the group and helping young thespians grow. Previous teaching experiences include being an English as a Second Language teacher in South Korea where she used theatre as a way to increase the student’s confidence in their speaking abilities and show them that English can be fun! Additionally, she was a Teaching Assistant in the Tempe School District. As far as theatre, she has done Improv Comedy with the Neighborhood Comedy Theatre and Squid Hazard Improv. She has participated in several performances throughout her schooling. She continues to write consistently, writing short plays, children’s musicals, and audio dramas which she posts to her Youtube channel and on audio drama apps. Makenzie Winans holds a Bachelors of Arts in Information Science and Arts, as well as a Minor in Creative Writing.
