Creative Drama Storytime
Create Drama (the good kind!) in your classroom. Our teaching artists will facilitate an interactive storytelling experience with your preschoolers by exploring children's literature through a drama-based process called Creative Drama. Creative Drama Storytime combines literacy-based learning and drama techniques in order to develop language acquisition, problem solving and self-reflection skills. Children use their voices, bodies and imaginations to become characters from and deeply explore the world of a story. Creative Drama Storytime is an engaging, meaningful and fun way to promote literacy in the classroom!
Each Creative Drama Storytime will be customized to the learning themes and needs of your classroom. A minimum of four consecutive sessions is suggested in order for your classroom to have a rich, scaffolded literacy experience.
Professional Development
Want to learn how to lead drama-infused storytimes? Our professional development program is designed specifically for preschool teachers and supports best practices in language development, pre-literacy development, and CLASS. We work in a peer coaching model – you bring the expertise in your classroom and children, we bring the expertise in drama...and laughter and learning ensue! You can participate in our programs unit-by-unit or as a year-long learning experience. EYEPlay works best as a collective learning experience for sites or districts, but you can also participate as an individual teacher. Contact us for more information!
