Teaching Artists

Childsplay Seeks Engaging and Enthusiastic Teaching Artists

TEACHING ARTISTS

Childsplay seeks creative, innovative and qualified theater teaching artists for part-time employment teaching in a variety of educational programs

Childsplay Teaching Artists work in one or more areas:

In-School Residencies and Afterschool Programs bring opportunities for drama experience to K-8 students in schools throughout the Greater Phoenix Area. Multi-week programs center around arts integration, creative drama, and social emotional development.

Professional Development programs work with preK-8 teachers to integrate drama into their teaching practice. Primarily focused on literacy and language development, these programs work one-on-one with classroom teachers in a job-embedded setting.

Childsplay Academy offers quality theatre classes for students ages 3-18 at Childsplay’s campus in Tempe. Academy classes focus on cultivating performing arts abilities and life skills. The Conservatory program (a subset of Academy) provides pre-professional training for young people interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts.

Post-Performance and Special Events Workshops are short (30-60 minute) one-time drama classes, usually at the theatre. The workshops connect to themes from the performance enriching the patrons’ theatre experience.
