Musical theatre performers incorporate their personalities into songs and dances. In this unique musical theatre class young people will explore techniques to build a showstopping performance. Culminating in a musical performance, participants will learn more about the history of musical theatre, practice "acting the song," and develop tools for building musical performances that reflect their personal style.

For the first time, students may choose either voice or dance as a primary concentration for study and dive deeper into these skills. "Musical theatre performers incorporate their personalities into songs and dances. In this unique musical theatre class, taught by valley theatre legend Jon Gentry, young people will explore techniques to build a showstopping performance.  Culminating in a cabaret-style performance, participants will learn more about the history of musical theatre, practice ""acting the song,"" and develop tools for building musical performances that reflect their personal style. For the first time, students may choose either voice or dance as a primary concentration for study and dive deeper into these skills.


These specialized workshops are an opportunity to learn more about specific areas of theatre and performance. Varying skill levels and ages may participate in Theatre Intensives, although some previous experience is recommended.
