This course builds student confidence in performing through a physical and improvisational approach to acting. Training in mime, tableau, gesture, and expression help performers learn how to better express character and story physically. Improvisation is taught with a variety of theatre “games” which create a fun and safe environment for student risk-taking. Improvisational skills help students understand more about story structure, gain confidence, and develop adaptability when performing with other actors.

This program includes a progressive curriculum culminating in a showcase on the last day of the eight-week term. Some previous acting/theatre experience is suggested although not required.
