COVID-19 UPDATE

COVID-19 UPDATE

As you have heard by now, Governor Ducey has issued new guidelines to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) by restricting public gathering and encouraging social distancing. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Spring Academy classes, and Suzette Who Set To Sea field trip and weekend performances. We continue to plan for Summer Academy classes as normal.

The loss of class registrations, ticket sales and support from our annual fundraiser are severe. We are planning to create a virtual fundraiser in place of the WOW Gala and you will hear about that soon. But, we must face the reality that we will not be able to fully recover the nearly $500,000 in income that was projected to come in this Spring.

As a nonprofit arts organization, Childsplay relies exclusively on the participation of donors, subscribers, and ticket buyers like you. This support is the core of our existence and without it, Childsplay and other arts organizations could see devastating losses due to the impact of COVID-19. We ask for your patience, partnership and understanding during this incredibly difficult time as we navigate these challenges.

Now, more than ever, we need your help to sustain us through this public health crisis. If you are able to, here are some ways you can help ensure Childsplay can continue bringing imagination and wonder to our community after the dangers have passed:

  • If you have tickets to a performance or class that has been cancelled, please consider crediting it for a future show, or transferring the amount to a donation. If you wish to receive a refund instead, we will process a refund for you.

If you have registered for a Spring class, or have purchased tickets to either Suzette Who Set To Sea or our WOW Gala, The Herberger Box Office or Childsplay staff will be contacting you separately about what you would like to do. Due to the overwhelming amount of activity right now, we ask that you remain patient, as it will take a lot of time for the staff to reach all of our affected patrons. If at all possible, please allow at least 10 days before contacting us directly. This will allow us to give you the best customer service possible.

If you choose to transfer your purchase to a donation or a future class or performance, your dollars will be put to work immediately, sustaining the livelihoods of our ensemble and the partners we work with outside of our office walls.

We recognize that this pandemic will affect all of our lives in significant ways. We thank you in advance for standing with us in any way you can during this time. And, if you have any questions, please reach out.

Stay safe and healthy, and know that we look forward to when we can, again, Imagine Together with you.
