Brenda Batres is thrilled to return to Childsplay as a teaching artist this summer! She holds a BA in Theatre Education from Grand Canyon University and is currently a high school theatre teacher at Horizon high school! Favorite directing credits include: Once Upon a Mattress, The Mousetrap, Cash on Delivery, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Brenda is an active member of the International Thespian Society and currently sits on the State Board for Arizona Thespians. Brenda believes that theatre, whether in the classroom, on stage, or backstage provides students with the opportunity to practice real-world skills. She strives to offer multiple experiences for students to be involved in, as those experiences will stay with them through their lives. Furthermore, she believes in creating a safe place for students to be themselves.
