Childsplay Kid Reporters

Childsplay will be looking for new Kid Reporters for it's 2017-2018 season this summer. Check back in around late June/early July for your chance to apply!

About The Childsplay Kid Reporter Program

A Childsplay Kid Reporter will be invited to a Childsplay performance, where they will get an exclusive backstage tour and interview with cast members. Kid Reporters will write an article that will be published on our Kid Reporter blog and create a short video review of their experience to be shared with the world!

Each Kid Reporter will enjoy an "insider's" package at the theatre that includes:

  • Free seats to a Childsplay performance for the reporter and his/her family
  • An exclusive interview with members of the cast backstage
  • A backstage tour with a member of the cast or crew
  • Their name announced as Kid Reporter for the day during the pre-show announcement
  • Special "Press Pass" to wear and have as a keepsake, which includes their photo
  • Autographed photos from the cast
  • Exclusive tour of Childsplay's Campus for Imagination and Wonder (our prop and costume shops included!)

Additionally, the Kid Reporter will be invited to tour the Channel 12 News offices to see behind-the-scenes of a real TV newsroom after the season is complete!

DUTIES:

The Kid Reporter will need to come to the show prepared with questions. These questions can be about the play, the performers, and anything else they want to know! Childsplay will help with these by providing some basic questions they can choose to use during the interview. (And we encourage mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, teachers or anyone else to help!) After the show, the Kid Reporter will go backstage for their exclusive interview with the cast. The Kid Reporter will have one week to submit his or her written article and video review. The article and video will then be published on our Kid Reporter blog and marketed in an email blast and on our social media sites! (Parent or Guardian will be required to sign a photo waiver).
