Thundering footsteps climb the stairs. Do you race downstairs or leap out the window? The classic interactive form of storytelling comes to life in this collaborative theatre-making class.
In addition to the engaging theme, during this class students will learn more about playwriting and adapting material to the stage. This may include improvisation, writing, devising, or other collaborative methods. The original material developed by the class will be included in their sharing at the last class on March 12th.
In addition to developing skills as a performer, participants will have behind the scenes experiences for Childsplay’s production process including attending performances at the Tempe Center for the Arts. Class tuition includes tickets for these homeschool performances:
Additional tickets for caregivers, family or friends may be purchased for these shows at special homeschool field trip rates.
The course culminates with an informal sharing of material created by the students during the eight-week course. The class accommodates a variety of skill levels, and students do not need previous theatre experience to enjoy this course.
Students do not need to have taken previous theatre classes to succeed in this course.
