The Actor's Tools (body, voice, and imagination) form the building blocks of acting every performer uses in theatre. This class will contain an overview of these critical tools required for crafting any performance. This is an excellent introduction to acting for students new to drama and an excellent review of the fundamentals for more experienced young performers.
In Acting Essentials we engage body, voice, and imagination through a fast-paced curriculum of drama activities. Each class blends a popular theme with specific instructions in theatre skills, which makes each class unique. Acting Essentials may be repeated multiple times with new content, new challenges, and new opportunities for growth. You do not need to have taken previous classes to succeed in this course.
In addition to developing skills as a performer, participants will have behind the scenes experiences for Childsplay’s production process including attending performances at the Herberger Theatre Center in Phoenix. Class tuition includes student tickets for these homeschool performances:
Spring Session: Mondays, February 4th- April 8th, 2019
In this Corner Cassius Clay- February 5th- 9:30 am
A Very Hungry Caterpillar- March 26th- 9:30 am
Additional tickets for caregivers, family or friends may be purchased for these shows at special homeschool field trip rates.
The course culminates with an informal sharing of material created by the students during the nine-week course. The class accommodates a variety of skill levels, and students do not need previous theatre experience to enjoy this course.
Students do not need to have taken previous theatre classes to succeed in this course.
