"Friends, Romans, and countrymen; lend me your ears!" Actors must use power, control, and variety to keep an audience listening. Learn the impact of speech and manipulate it at your will. Students will do exercises that will help strengthen vocal weaknesses, expand their knowledge of their vocal range, and ultimately create material for a diverse wealth of characters.
Students in this course will learn more about vocal dynamics. Pace, pause, pitch, and intonation are invaluable tools for a performer. Students will learn more about how to control the voice and how to use these dynamics to express emotion and enhance the performance of a character.
Through the fast-paced curriculum of drama activities, students learn how to use body, voice, and imagination to create characters and scenes. Acting Essentials may be repeated multiple times with new content, new challenges, and new opportunities for growth. You do not need to have taken previous classes to succeed in this course.
